2018 Spring Coaches
Paul Kirkaldy – Head Coach
Riley McLean - Assistant Coach
Paul played some lacrosse in High School in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He started coaching box lacrosse in Red Deer, Alberta Canada, in 1990 when his sons started playing the game. Paul held both assistant and head coach positions at various age groups in the Red Deer Lacrosse Association from 1990 and 2005 and was the assistant coach for the Bantam Provincial Championship Team in 2000 and for Alberta Bantam Provincial Team that finished fourth in the Canadian Bantam Nationals in 2001. Paul moved to Houston in 2009 and started coaching field lacrosse for Magnolia’s first 7th grade team and coached the Young Guns Program from 2010 – 2014. The Knights welcomed Paul to the coaching staff in 2015. Paul has assisted with 3d Lacrosse clinics and is currently a 3d Lacrosse contract coach, working primarily with the 2022 team.
Kevin Leaver – Head Coach
Brian Winkler - Assistant Coach
A native of Old Lyme, Connecticut, Kevin played 12 years of lacrosse as a defenseman beginning in 5th grade. He knows what it's like in playoff and even sudden victory championship games. His passion for lacrosse is in the finesse of cradling, passing and catching with both hands. He prides himself on delivering effective and positive feedback to each individual athlete, which ultimately improves the team. He plays in a men's league in Houston called the North Stars, where he's played for three years. He has previously coached two spring seasons with The Woodlands Highlanders Young Guns 5th and 6th grade boys. Most recently he coached 3d Box League in the fall.
Charles Sheehan - Head Coach

Charles played Division 2 Club Lacrosse at Kent State University as a middie and defensive middie for 3 years. He is now in Houston working to become a flight instructor.

Darryl Huften – Head Coach
Pete Lehle - Assistant Coach
Darryl started playing lacrosse in 2nd grade and has been coached by many all-Americans in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He was a long pole midfielder in high school coached by Bud Beardmore, head coach of the '73 and '75 National Champion Maryland Terrapins. Under Coach Bud, his team won the Maryland State HS Championship in 2004 and were runner-up in 2002, 2003 & 2005. In college Darryl played Club lacrosse at the University of Maryland where the team won the NCLL National Championship in 2008. In college, his team was “player coached” and Darryl ran the defense, man-down, and clears. Darryl is looking forward to sharing his knowledge of high caliber lacrosse from many successful seasons in the Mid-Atlantic lacrosse hotbed region. Coach Huften joined the Knights during their 2015 inaugural season and lead the 5/6Black and 7Black Teams to victory in the 2016-2017 GHYLA Championships respectively.
